What's Happening In July

Hey all!
Here’s your biweekly swimmer updates from your favorite swimmer’s doc and what’s been going on these last few weeks.
Pregnancy Updates
I can't believe it's almost the middle of July already. I swear it feels like 2023 began not too long ago. As of today, I'm 38 weeks pregnant and baby girl is ready to come in these coming days. We finally have her room set up, all her clothes washed and put away, car seats ready to go, and a hospital bag packed. Our family (and The Swimmer's Doc swim family!) has been talking nonstop about her for months and the excitement has been building to the point we feel like we're going to explode.
Pregnancy has definitely not been easy for me, and this last trimester has been very uncomfortable, to say the least. I always feel better after working out (whether it's lifting, walking, or swimming), but I definitely struggled getting myself to the gym or pool these last few weeks. Swelling and feet pain have been my biggest issues since the 1st trimester, and it's gotten progressively worse. Regardless, I'm grateful that I'm able to stay active and move, and that baby girl has been my workout buddy since Day 1.
Thank you for all of your support and for cheering me on through this crazy journey!
What I’ve Been Working On
Many of you have been asking about 1-on-1 coaching with me for swimming and strength training. So for the past 2 months, I've been filming, editing, and cataloging videos on swimming drills, strength and rehab exercises (mobility exercises coming soon) for all of you on Skillest.
I found this new platform where I can create an entire library of drills and exercises, and prescribe the appropriate drills and exercises that's tailored specifically for you and your specific movement patterns and dysfunctions. I'm excited to say that Skillest is now ready to go and I'm now taking on new clients who are looking to maximize their swimming efficiency and stay injury-free.
Skillest is perfect because you can opt for a single lesson, monthly unlimited lessons, or yearly unlimited lessons. You want text and zoom call check-ins? No problem, we can do that on Skillest. It's been a gaming-changing app for my existing clients and I've only gotten positive feedback since switching to Skillest. You can now upload your videos, get technique analyses, text, and zoom call all in one app. Better yet, you can do it at your own pace and on your own schedule.

Here's a sample lesson that I did for one of my swimmers.
Tip Of The Week
When it comes to swimming, there is more to it than what goes on in the pool. Conventional training calls for yardage, yardage, and more yardage.
Instead, try opting or adding strength training into your programming. You’ll start to notice that strength training is an amazing way to cross train, supplement, and enhance everything you’re doing in the pool.
Looking for ideas on how to get start? I’ve created some general strength (and mobility) programs for you to “get your feet wet”.
As always, please give me feedback on Instagram. What did you enjoy reading? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just DM me on Instagram and mention “newsletter” in the DM!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Until next time,
Sandra
