How's Sober October going?
Here are some easy tips to get through the rest of October

Can you believe that October is already more than half way over?! For those of you participating in Sober October, you’re almost in the clear - only 11 days left!
For most people, the middle period is the most challenging part. You’re no longer experiencing the excitement of starting a new habit and it’s likely that the novelty of this newfound habit has worn off. You’re also not quite close enough to the end of the month, so there isn’t that thrill for the final push yet either.
You’re in the…

TWILIGHT ZONE of Sober October.

So, to keep the momentum going to get you into that final leg of Sober October, here are some helpful tips to get you to the finish line:
Tip #1: Embrace the hard.
Doing things that make you uncomfortable suck. I get it. We all would prefer to stay in our comfort zone because it’s easy. But everything in life worth living for takes effort. So embrace the hard. Embrace the suck. You’ll find that if you stop resisting how much it sucks and start embracing it, it’s not really as bad as you think.
Tip #2: Remember why you started.
When things get tough, it’s easy to forget why you started things to begin with. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the agony, start counting down the days until it’s over. When things get tough, remind yourself why you wanted to partake in Sober October. Was it simply to challenge yourself? Did you want a jumpstart to losing weight? Or maybe you wanted to improve your health and take a break from alcohol. Whatever that reason may be, write it down where you can see it daily to refocus on your purpose.
Tip #3: Find a healthier alternative.
Sometimes, it’s difficult to quit cold turkey on something. So what do you do? You find a healthier substitute. If it’s a good enough substitute (it satisfies your cravings), you might be able to permanently make a change. For example, craving sugar? Try fruit. Want a beer? Go non-alcoholic.
Speaking of trying non-alcoholic, if you’re looking for a solid, non-alcoholic craft beer, you need to try Athletic Brewing. They have seasonal flavors like Dark & Gourdy for all of you pumpkin spice lovers, as well as IPAs and lagers. You get to enjoy great tasting beer without worrying about how it’ll affect your recovery.
